I was born in the 80’s, in a small town of southwestern Romania named Targu Jiu, mostly known for the famous sculptor Constantin Brancusi. I’ve lived all my life in a village right outside of my hometown and this had a large impact on my life. I began to photograph around 2002-2003, and although it became my most beloved passion along with traveling, it took a long time to realize that this would also be my dream job. I started as a wedding photographer around 2012, when I created a small creative studio called Studio Infinie with my best friend.
Get to know me and my passions!
I do not consider myself an artist…could never compare with those names that come into my mind when thinking about this term. At most, I can say that I’m a creative enthusiast, and photography has become everything for me over the last 10 or so years. It is both a passion and a business, an ever changing and evolving domain that I will probably never master fully. Nevertheless, I love what I do and don’t see myself doing anything else. I like creating stories and capturing moments, traveling in search for the best light or simply getting to know beautiful people.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a PhD in Geography. I used to love to read and learn new things when I was younger and free time was a given fact and not a luxury. Looking back, I wish I would have started photographing earlier or more intensely, but passion knows no age and I don’t see myself doing anythings else. On the personal side, I plan to travel more often and always further, to discover new places and cultures, to write and photograph the world and the love between its people.
AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENTS
WHAT I DO
These amazing engagement photography sessions usually include a small ceremony and a one hour couple session, but they can also represent a stand-alone proposal or couple photo-shoot. Sometimes, the ceremony can be followed by a small party. I love to shoot engagements as people are usually more relaxed and things are simpler. It is also a great opportunity to get to know the couple before the big day.
These are special events that welcome a baby into the world by the ritual of Christening. A usual baptism photography event starts with a baby and family photo session at their house, followed by the church religious ceremony and a day or evening party. At a baptism event, I shoot at least one thousand images, with about two thirds selected and edited.
More as a passion than a business, I love to photograph travel related subjects, from landscape and nature to people and street photography. I like to combine travel photography and writing to create stories about places and their soul. I can also do this commercially, with complete travel related photo subjects.
The core of my work is represented by wedding photography and I had the pleasure of photographing over 150 weddings in the last 6 years. The usual wedding day starts in the morning or midday and ends in the early morning of next day, lasting for as much as 20 hours. I photograph each every important event during the day, as well as the little moments in-between. I usually shoot around 2000 images, of which two thirds end up selected and edited.
THEMED PHOTO SESSIONS
Although a small portion of my portfolio compared to events, I also photograph various themed sessions, from newborn and babies to pregnancy and families, all the way to glamour and beauty photography. A photo session can last from thirty minutes to a maximum of two hours, with indoor or outdoor locations, except studios, which I never really enjoyed.
I have been writing about travel related subjects for the last twenty or so years in both English and Romanian, collaborating with various International travel brands and websites. I enjoy researching and creating travel articles and stories, but most of all, I love to write about my own travel experiences.
AFTER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
I love shooting after wedding photography, more precisely love the dress or trash the dress photo sessions. Being able to travel to any beautiful destination together with two lovely people that I already know, usually results in fascinating stories that cannot be told during the hectic wedding day. A usual session lasts for 3-4 hours, although the whole experience can last for a full day or even several days of traveling between locations.
I enjoy the process of setting a story into a beautiful album. I design all my albums and see the finished result as a timeless story of the event that the customer can cherish forever. I always imbue my passion and vision into my albums, but I also usually take into consideration the client’s preferences and always proof the design before sending it to print.
Over the years, I have taught myself how to install and deeply customize WordPress themes, creating websites and blogs. I have always developed my own photography and travel related websites. I can also combine photography with writing and design to create complete and fully customized WordPress websites.
